Saigon University of Technology (STU), formerly known as Ho Chi Minh City Private College of Technology (SEC), was established under Decision No. 798/QD-TTg dated September 24, 1997 of the Prime Minister Government. STU is a multi-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary training institution, providing quality human resources with ethical qualities, independent thinking, creativity, high expertise, good skills, and good foreign languages.

In 2020, Vietnam detected the first case of Covid-19 infection. All graduate admissions previously scheduled by STU have been changed or postponed.

Offline counseling sessions, face-to-face discussions with students and workers intending to study a Master’s degree were canceled and the school instead focused on promoting online communication.
STU’s challenge is to recruit enough students according to the goals set by the school earlier during the outbreak of the epidemic.
